In 2023, CARTOONS ON THE BAY, International Festival of Animation, Transmedia and Meta-Arts dedicates and curates a solo exhibition to Monica Manganelli: “MONICA MANGANELLI. IMAGINED and IMAGINARY WORLDS BETWEEN UTOPIC, REALITY AND SUSPENSION.”
In this 27th edition of the Cartoons on the Bay debuted the GENDER AWARD won by Monica Manganelli “for having been able to outline the battle for women’s rights and the condition of women with vigor and original artistic flair through the representation of timeless heroines.”

The last part of the exhibition will be entirely dedicated to my new project, TURANDOT-Princess of China, a full-length animated film, in development, which has already received an initial contribution from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage-Cinema Directorate.
It is a transmedia project that from the film will also become an immersive exhibition and an illustrated book, together with an innovative opera production with an animated digital-virtual video/set design.
