THE SOUND OF THE SOUL is a crime-thriller novel, initially conceived as a TV series, marking my personal debut in fiction writing, set in Turin (Italy) during the Tennis ATpFinals week. It is part of a trilogy (The Sound of the Soul, Wunderkammer, Dance Macabre) whose protagonist is Andrea Lagrange, the first transgender police commissioner in Italy and among the first worldwide.
He is an aesthete, passionate about art, cinema, and tennis — a contemporary dandy, without vices but fully devoted to his work.
The narrative choice is not provocative for its own sake, but opens new dimensions of investigation, giving voice to realities too often silenced. Based on a little-publicized real investigation (Provolo Institure Case), the book demonstrates how the thriller genre can be a vehicle for social criticism, creating a bridge between entertainment and civic engagement.
